1. hello pennsylvania.

and being home. if i could even call this place home.

i’m back from Haiti. a bittersweet time. a lot of hard work, met some awesome people, got really sick, now i miss awesome people. and fell in love with Jesus over and over and over again.

i feel like writing a book, the people i meet.
i also feel like this tumblr isn’t as exciting as i wanted it to be.
i will probably be writing more important things on my thatthereishope tumblr. so if you don’t follow me on there first, please do.

thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
i still have things for sale on facebook, totes, pillows, and soon to be necklaces and bracelets. if you have a few extra bucks to spare, check them out here.

saturday i leave for cornerstone festival. i can’t wait.

    loves.

  2. check check, check it out. →

i’ve made things. pillows, totes and what not to try to raise money to cover my haiti costs. take a look and spread the word?

  3. the constant adventure.

    Hey friends!

I just wanted to give you a heads up on some things.

    A. I’m going to Haiti, from June 3rd-June 19th. Yes, that is super soon. No, I don’t have a real job. No, I can’t really afford it. But, I don’t act out of faith with what I have, I act on what I don’t have believing my needs will be met.

    B. I will then be coming home for a week, before I head out to Cornerstone Music Festival in Illinois for a week.

    C. I will come home, with July 6th being a big birthday bash around here. If you’d like to submit art or crafts for the show we’re having message me!

    D. In our around July 11th I will be Greyhounding across the states to visit a few friends. Greyhound has this cool Discovery Pass that for a certain price you can go anywhere. From money saved up I will be going anywhere, and I’m super excited.

    E. After that I have no idea. (Even before that, things could always, always change.) But hypothetically those are my plans.

I feel like we have this stereotyped view of missionaries. Perhaps you think of them as people who tell indigenous people about Jesus in lands we’ve never heard of. Or maybe you think of them as someone who risks their life delivering Bibles in Asia. Or maybe we think of them as church planters, special speakers, traveling pastors, etc. etc.

Though they very well might be one of the above, we forget that they are human. They are people just like you and I, doing what they feel called to do.

And so, though my summer adventures might not fit a missionary stereotype, I’d like to believe my everyday adventures, where I will be meeting numerous people, from every walk of life, I will be a missionary.

If you’d like to help support what I do, message or e-mail (thatthereishope@yahoo.com) and I will send you some ways that you can. If you’d like to prayerfully support me, let me know that too. Because though finances are the means to get things on earth, prayers are what moves things in Heaven.

Thank you so so much for reading this. I have created a tumblr (www.candiceis.tumblr.com) for updating on my adventures, and will be posting shortly some tote bags and pillows I have made for donations towards …my life, ha.

Let me know what you are up to, your concerns and your joys!
    Take care,
    Candice

  4. focused.

It seems that the only days I get to work on the things I really want to work on, are days after I’ve done everything else that I didn’t want to do.

It’s funny how things that are necessary take precedence over what we actually enjoy. I hope to one day combine it all together. Or at least to find enjoyment in doing the mandatory life things.

Currently I have two tote/purses done, and a few bracelets. I just got some pillow stuffing and cut out the fabric for the pillow. And I’m almost completed another tote, but my bobbin is screwed up and I got frustrated so I’m just going to ask mom to help figure it out.

Have I mentioned my awesome business cards? I started writing on them today. They’re cardboard boxes (cereal, onion dip, thai noodles, etc) cut, then stamped, and now hand-writing my info. I’m not going to lie, they look awesome. So just in case you want my information on a card, I’ve got them.

Soon I’m going to be making button flowers. I have a bajillion buttons of all shapes and sizes. So along with the flowers if you have any ideas what to do with them, let me know.

I’m going to a show tonight about 40 minutes away. For bands I don’t really even like. But one of the bands stayed at my house and we became friends. Sometimes it’s not about the music a band makes, but their heart behind it.

Find the joy in the little things!
    .Candice.

  5. Making things!

Tote bags, pillows, bracelets and necklaces. most likely some crocheted hot pads and dish cloths as well. All when I have the time to make things. But, I’m making time. The first two tote bags will be done tomorrow! I’m always working on a tank-top…but it’s going to be for me ;)

No word about going to Haiti on Tuesday. I’m a bit bummed, but I know it’s going to work out some how. I might be back to my initial plan of going the end of July, early August. Awesome.

Just a for your information, this is my hypothetical summer.
June 20 something till July before the 5th heading out to Cornerstone! July 5th going up to Binghamton for my friends show. July 6th BIG shindig for my 21st (arts/crafts/music/fun). July 11thish till July 27thish visiting WI, BC, WA, ID and KS via greyhound. Hypothetically then greyhounding to Miami to catch a flight to Haiti for 10-14 days. flying back to Miami to greyhound home. (i’d have a discovery greyhound pass, it’s cheapest.) BUT there’s a possiblity I’m going to Soulfest in NH aug 4-7th which would really throw things off because that’s when I would otherwise be in Haiti. SO, just saying. Hypothetically that’s where I’m going this summer.

I’ve dropped my health insurance. I’m getting another tattoo. I just got a new camera. Things are good. I can’t wait for whats ahead.

    Peace.

  6. facebook group and things. →

You see..I’m preparing for ridiculously awesome things to happen.
Though I have know clue what God has in store. I just know it’s going to be good.

  7. well, hello there.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a first post anywhere. Most of you probably know I have another tumblr blog, thatthereishope. But this blog is going to be designated for more than just the ordinary.

This blog is going to contain my adventure of life. It will follow where the path takes me, and how I’m going to get there. From pictures, to prayers, to bracelets and other things for sale, all benefiting/recording the servant, simple life I’ve chosen to live.

I have no doubts there are going to be some wild adventures posted on here. I would love if you would follow me. Or subscribe. Or do whatever you do, to keep an eye on this. Sooner than later (depending if I’m going to Haiti next week) there will be things for sale posted that will be benefiting my next journey. What my next journey is, I really never know, maybe here will be the first place I tell.

Thanks so much for reading. You are incredible. Within each of us is the power to make a difference. To do great things, that right now we might think impossible. I hope in 10 years we can both look back, and though different adventures we might have, our journeys will go above and beyond what we thought we could do.

Take action, and love one another.
    Candice
